The 2008 World Series of Poker had taken place on the 9th of June this year. Duncan "Pumper" Bell was the first one to be celebrated. He arrived at the final table of Event number 13, $ 2,500 No-Limit Hold'em. That’s how he got also to the bracelet ceremony. Duncan won several times at the final table and he has beaten also Steve Merrifield.
Merrifield collected $ 428,000 as the runner up, but Bell just reached almost $ 667,000.
The next winner of that bracelet awarded evening was David Oppenheim, who arrived to the final with a narrow lead. But the one who reached the gold wasn't Minh Ly, nor the famous Eric Seidel, but the relatively unknown Eric Brooks. He won $ 415,856 and donated the whole amount to Decision Education Foundation, which is a Foundation Brooks supports.
Afterwards in the Ladies No-Limit World Championship a lot of famous poker players played very well. The two biggest ladies poker players Kathy Liebert and Linda Johnson were expelled to the rail during the day's play. At the final the most well-know player was Anh Le and at this final she is going to play against Svetlana Gromenkova.
Also the other No-Limit Events went very well and many famous players showed up.
